Wizards forward Oubre ejected for bowling over Olynyk

Wizards forward Kelly Oubre Jr. has been ejected from Game 3 against the Boston Celtics for charging at Kelly Olynyk and knocking him over.

In those same four games John Wall has 20, 40, 24 and 27 points. But the last two games in Washington were a struggle for the two-time All-Star.

Washington's 116-89 win Thursday night was sparked by a 22-0 run during the first quarter, and then its 121-102 win Sunday night was made possible by a 26-0 run during the third quarter. Yet it was their tone-setting start that turned the game.

Isaiah Thomas seemed to recognize that when he spoke to reporters Tuesday.

The Wizards do not have a deep bench, but they will now have to find a solution to replace Oubre Jr.'s minutes.

Draymond Green spent a chunk of time on his podcast ridiculing Boston Celtic's Kelly Olynyk for his "dirty" antics on the court. Whistled for a foul on the play, Olynyk was discussing the call with an official when Oubre ran his way.

Added Thomas: "It's a joke that [Green] said that". "If you do that, that should be automatic. We can't worry about what others are saying or doing". "We're anxious about the Celtics right now".

"There was no such thing as the two Kellys", Boston center Al Horford said.

At the half in Game 2, the Washington Wizards lead Boston, but that's been a trend. "We can't respond that way. That's the mindset I felt like all of us had". We have to focus on playing basketball.

What the Wizards did to Thomas was two-fold. Several NBA players share that opinion.

As for getting vehemently booed by the Verizon Center crowd in Game 4, Olynyk is taking a positive view.

One obvious way to counter Washington's defensive tactics against Thomas is to have other players step up and take on a heavier scoring load.

"We've got to play hard", Gortat said. I like to watch teams playing good basketball.

"We know that we have the ability to win there", said Wall. Game 4 is Sunday.

Thomas noted that the issue has not been much of a topic of conversation among the team.

Oubre called the suspension a effect of his actions. So I think it got to be called differently. You've just gotta continue to play through it and especially on the road. He connected to the groin region of Oklahoma City Thunder big man Steven Adams a few times in last year's playoffs. Y'all already kicked him out of the game.
