AMD releases 'Radeon Pro 500' Series graphics for iMac

While the new iMacs and iMac Pro might have gotten the lion's share of attention from WWDC, the new MacBook saw a few important updates.

With thin and light designs, powerful performance, unbelievable displays and all-day battery life, Mac notebooks deliver the world's best portable computing experience.1 MacBook now features faster Kaby Lake processors up to 1.3 GHz Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 3.6 GHz and up to 50 percent faster SSD, and supports up to twice the memory.

The new graphics enables extraordinary computing experiences, gaming and immersive virtual reality (VR) on select models. It works more smoothly with 4K video, too, but since the MacBook's display isn't that sharp, those increases will likely go unnoticed by the majority of buyers.

The entire Macbook refresh lineup should be available directly from Apple as of this week.

It might not be the thinnest or lightest laptop in the world since that crown has been taken by so many Ultrabooks, but this is still an incredibly portable package.

Apple is giving its 12-inch MacBook laptop a spec bump.

The on-board 2,304 x 1,440-resolution display is much sharper than the Full HD, 1080p panels we typically see even on 13-inch laptops. Apple has also updated MacBook and MacBook Pro with faster processors, added faster SSDs to MacBook and introduced a new US$1,299 13-inch MacBook Pro.

The latter chips should be a big step up in power.

Featuring next-generation Intel Xeon processors up to 18 cores, iMac Pro is created to handle the most demanding pro workflows. There's also up to 50 percent faster SSD, and support for up to twice the memory. Lastly, the maximum memory capacity has been doubled from 8GB to 16GB. The price still remained at United States $999.

Touted as the most powerful iMac Apple has ever created, the iMac Pro appears to be aimed squarely at macOS power users, say creative professionals who have to work with graphical programmes that require a significant amount of compute power or want to run machine learning algorithms locally.

The 21.5-inch iMac will start at $1,100 and the 4K 21.5-inch model will be available at $1,300.

Upgrading from there to an Intel Core i7 processor will cost an additional $150, £150 or AU$150 on top of the aforementioned starting price for the Core i5 model. All that power will set you back, however.
