Warriors' Green stays in Game 4 after technical foul fiasco

Mary Babers-Green, mother of Draymond Green, took to the internet during Game 4 of the Finals to assert (perhaps jokingly?) that the "officials were officially paid".

The confusion began when ref John Goble called Green for a loose ball foul in the first quarter. All the little antics and stuff don't matter. According to business reporter Darren Rovell of ESPN, the Warriors are 8-point favorites to win tomorrow's Game 5 at the Oracle Arena, where Golden State could capture their second championship in three years. That cut Golden State's lead to 3-1, but as usual Green's stats were only a small chapter of his story.

The public address announcer did announce the technical foul was on Green.

Let's just say Draymond Green doesn't have an affinity for Cleveland Cavaliers fans. "After looking at the video, I did not verbalize (that) to the table and looking at video, I should have done a better job of making sure that the table knew the technical foul as on Coach Kerr".

Game 4 was the most physical contest of the series, with several hard fouls, and LeBron James and Kevin Durant drawing a double-technical for arguing with each other after a technical by Kevin Love.

"He told me to keep playing", Green said of Davis. "Don't seem to be the sharpest people".

But Green stood stoically on the floor, then egged on the crowd to raise the decibel level of their jeers toward him. 'That was my very next call, ' Green said.

"Mike Callahan came up to John [Goble] and asked him who was the tech on and he said Kerr", Green explained.

"But I'm still trying to figure out why did I get the "second" one". Goble indicated that he "failed to properly communicate" that Kerr was the recipient of the technical and not Green. In the moment, I thought I had verbalized to the table that the technical foul as on Coach Kerr.

But then, as the officials huddled, Green stayed on the court.

"The procedure is to advise the table who the technical foul is on and with the player we give a number. But I thought I heard the announcer say, the P.A. announcer say, that it was on Draymond".

"We did not do a very good job of listening to the PA announcer and we did not hear him announce it. I take full responsibly for that".

Golden State would rather forget that monumental collapse past year, when Green's absence for Game 5 because of flagrant foul point accumulation helped swing the series.
