New World, Release Window Announced for Kingdom Hearts III

Disney has unveiled a new trailer for the game which shines a spotlight on the first world players will adventure through, based on the beloved Disney/Pixar film, Toy Story.

At Disney's D23 expo on Saturday, we got to see a bit more of Kingdom Hearts 3 and found out the game will release sometime in 2018.

Showcased through the above trailer, it shows Sora, Donald Duck and Goofy arriving in Andy's Bedroom (With their forms taking that of toys).

As for the introduction of the Toy Story universe in the Kingdom Hearts lore, Nomura says it's a moment he's been hoping to see for a long time. On top of the reveal of Toy Story, the video trailer revealed a release window for 2018.

This news comes as a cool breeze on the desert, as the fans have been waiting for almost 13 years to get their hands on the next Kingdom Hearts game.

It's been a long wait for Kingdom Hearts III, which was announced at E3 2013 for PS4 and Xbox One and had been teased for a long time before that. If you own a PlayStation 4, you can get your hands on EVERY Kingdom Hearts title ever released. After the panel, various media outlets were able to interview the special guests who appeared to promote the game, mainly the series creator and director, Tetsuya Nomura.

Sora teams up with Woody and Buzz to battle the heartless in a crossover first for the hit series. Besides the combat and minor story elements, the trailer also offered a brief glimpse at the primary antagonist of the game known as Organization XIII. However, in exchange for this new feature, Nomura had to remove the Dimension Link, which was present in "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep" on the PlayStation Portable console.

Well, Square Enix certainly did not disappoint! Essentially, the developers want to first focus on the PS4 and Xbox One versions before targeting other platforms such as the Switch. "We can't suddenly develop a system where we're accommodating for downloadable content".
