'You're worse than I am' the infamous Trump-Turnbull call leaked

"You are worse than I am", Mr Trump told Mr Turnbull when the PM said his government refused to settle boat people in Australia in order to deter people smugglers. "I have been making these calls all day, and this is the most unpleasant call all day".

By "local milk people", Trump was likely referring to dairy farmers in states such as NY and Wisconsin, who rely heavily on immigrant labor.

"You have brokered many a stupid deal in business and I respect you, but I guarantee that you broke many a stupid deal", he told Mr Turnbull.

Throughout the call, Trump seemed to not understand the specifics of the deal, such as the number of refugees it would require the USA to accept. "Who are they? Where do they come from?' Mr Trump asked, before questioning if a refugee excepted into the country could 'become the Boston bomber in five years".

Trump said his conversation with Russian President Vladimir "was a pleasant call" by comparison.

"You can not say that to the press", Trump told Pena Nieto according to the transcript of the January 27 call published by the Post on Thursday. "I do not understand", Trump says, rather than perhaps reiterating American respect for the relationship with Australia.

'That is why they are in prison right now.

"Can you hear me out Mr President?" he said early in the call.

Turnbull replied: "That is the point I have been trying to make".

"I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country", Trump says. If you see reports of them, I'm not going to add to them, " he said at the time, as quoted by Reuters.

The Washington Post also published a reproduced transcript of Trump's call with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.

Turnbull, early in the call, pivots from introductory pleasantries to highlighting similarities in US and Australian policies with regard to "national security and border protection".

Mr Trump fired back: "It is important to you and it is embarrassing to me".

"I have had it, " Trump told Turnbull.

"(But) if you are going to say that Mexico is not going to pay for the wall, then I do not want to meet with you guys anymore because I can not live with that", Trump said.

The call ended abruptly as Mr Turnbull thanked the president for his commitment before telling him: 'You can count on me.

"They are not going to be wonderful people who go on to work for the local milk people", Trump said, seemingly a reference to the massive USA dairy industry.

TURNBULL: You can certainly say that it was not a deal that you would have done, but you are going to stick with it.

He then went on to make clear that "Putin was a pleasant call".

Turnbull wanted to steer the conversation to Syria and other subjects, but Trump would have none of it.

"I think it is a awful deal, a disgusting deal that I would have never made", Trump added. "I will be there again and again".
